Hello and welcome to my blog!
Coming back from my annual trip to the Isle of Man TT Races, where I have responsibility for about 4.5k people over the 12 day period, I was straight in to my Captains week…
Mr Captain’s Day for the Ladies went well without any problems and was a good day overall. Thank you to those who played.
Moving on came the Captain’s 5 and 6 Day Men’s Medal on the Thursday and the big build up to Captains Day on the Saturday. I have to say the highlight for me was going out with Nobby and Martin setting up the pins on the Friday.
At this point I want to thank our dedicated Social Team and all staff for making a valuable contribution to what was for me a very enjoyable time ending with the Mixed Event on the Sunday.
Moving on, in my Captains notes at the beginning of my term I talked about creating stronger links with corporate clients. On Monday 20th June I hosted both the Sales and Marketing Director of Pirelli UK and on 30th June I will be hosting the Managing Director of Sekonda. Watch this space for how these opportunities bring benefits to our club in the not too distant future.
Team wise last week was interesting with wins from all our endeavours, County Fours, B Team Combined and 1st Team too. On Friday that week I played for the Seniors and represented the Club on behalf of Peter Stokes at Park Hill Golf Club.
Finally, I cannot stress how much I need your support. Myself, Claire Stevens, Dave Sewart, Simon Wells and Jon Williamson from our pro team will be taking the 100 hole challenge next week. Thank you to those who have already donated, your support is much appreciated. If you have not donated but would like to payments can be made direct to the bank with reference ‘100holes’. Sort code: 56-00-55 Account No: 34380078. Alternatively, you can pay to the Bar or Office.
