Firstly, congratulations to our County Fours Men’s Team for making the semi finals and sadly losing out on the night at a very windy Lutterworth.
Our First team however continue to perform and put pressure on the title race for the Scratch league.
Looking ahead to this weekend, I will be supporting the Under 35’s on Friday v Kirby Muxloe and again back in action on Monday against Longcliffe. This weekend is a busy weekend with Pro’s Day on Saturday so please ensure you do all you can to support this day and evening. Sunday is LAGS DAY (Leicester Asian Golf Society) so it will be Christine’s Birthday that will have to take a back seat.
Captain’s Weekend is approaching so I would like to remind everyone that balances are due by the end of month! Pay directly to the Secretary’s Office only please and if you sponsored our 100 Hole effort please pay up too.
Danger on the course – this week we have seen two head injuries! Please be assured that this is part of the hazard of the game and provided we all yell as loud as possible “FORE!!” that is about as much as we can do.
Socially, I thought the Race Night was a great success. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and appreciate the efforts of the Social Committee in putting it on. I love their meetings as it follows with a few beers and a trip to the Indian Restaurant afterwards. Coming up will be my Charity Swing Night in aid of BAGS on October 22nd. Do not start assuming as we will relive the sounds of Frank, Dean, Bobby, Sammy and other voices from the era. A chance for the gents and ladies to sparkle and do not miss myself and other selected members who will also be performing on the night. Ticket details will be available soon.
All Team Captains – please continue to enjoy your responsibilities and do not forget if I can help with anything then just let me know. Members – please make yourself available for the balance of the Combined Team fixtures.
Finally, we are slowly but surely getting to grips with our catering and welcome back Steve. Thank you for your patience and understanding on this issue.
Richard Smith – Men’s Captain
